How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The toilet is not flushing well. The carpet is old and need some refurbishment.
The place is accessible and near to Blackpool and Liverpool. Very affordable.

The breakfast if you wanted it was a “Grab and Go” although there was a diner near by it did not serve breakfast until 9.00

The staff were very friendly. Rooms are clean and warm with comfortable beds, a great tv, tea/coffee and biscuits. Bathroom a good size and spotless. A short bus ride to the bus/train stations and the shops. We couldn't have chosen better. My 83 year old mum was thrilled as she'd lived in Chorley in the late '60s with my dad when my sister was a baby and my dad was attending the teaching college. We spent what would have been his 85th birthday walking through Astley Park and looking at their old house. Just perfect.

No lift.
It was exactly what we needed. We had an appointment at the local hospital and the Plaza was only 10 minutes away. There is a pub within the grounds. Parking is free of charge, which is unusual these days.

Located about 25 min walk from centre of Chorley. £7 in taxi. Not much power in the shower. Sockets tripped, so wasn't able to use the kettle in the morning.
Room was big and bed comfortable. Plenty of parking.

There was a new fridge in its packaging, and a roll of carpet or flooring material in the reception hall lowering the tone somewhat. The staff told us refurbishment work was ongoing but was taking far too long.
Breakfast was a prepacked bag of things with a coffee from a machine at reception. This was good for what we needed. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Thankyou. The room and facilities were clean.

Nothing it was perfectly good.
My second visit due to being on educational courses at a local college. The hotel is brilliant. Very clean and comfortable. Staff are always welcoming and polite. Rooms are spotless. A very comfortable stay at very very reasonable prices. Having a pub on site too is great for food.

The location was good, within 10 minutes of where we needed to be during the day,. Two of the three staff we encountered were lovely, while the other was unhelpful and rude. The beds were very comfortable (I asked if it was OK for me to use the single bed as my husband has to use a CPAP machine which is quite noisy, and the receptionist very pleasantly agreed). The facilities were good though the bathroom was rather basic - no shelf or cupboard to put toilet bags once you've taken the toiletries out. Overall, value for money with a handy pub on site.

Nothing to dislike at all. Unless of course you're expecting 5* all inclusive. Then you'll dislike it.
Tucked away nicely next to The Yarrow Bridge pub which made it very convenient, to meet friends and relax. Great little place. Very comfortable and great room and facilities. For the price i'd stay there without hesitation.

The people in the room above woke me up moving around getting ready to go out fairly early in the morning.It was disappointing to be woken out of a deep sleep . I had requested a ground floor room because I have mobility issues.
. The reception staff were pleasant and helpful when we needed help with the curtains on a previous visit.
