How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Reception area was being renovated and “piped music” was too loud to hear receptionist. Television in room didn’t work, someone came to fix. However, the tv kept turning off every few minutes, or lost signal. Although we didn’t use much it was frustrating when we did use.
Location, breakfast was good, room was comfortable and clean.

The Hotel was undergoing some refurbishment work so this restricted the use of some facilities.

The initial room offered, although we were given a more suitable alternative room.
As we had booked a show at the Playhouse, the location of the hotel was excellent, initial room overlooked waste bins, although we were offered suitable alternative room. Breakfast was very good with large selection of food attended by very courteous staff.

More fresh fruit for breakfast and gluten free pastries would be great. Comfy chairs and dressing gowns in the bedroom would be nice.

Not really anything in particular. At the reception there was a lot of noise due to some reconstruction works, but we guess that was more of a burden for the personnel than for us visitors.
Very nice welcoming personnel. Excellent breakfast in a nice atmosphere. Perfectly located for us nearby Waverley station and the tram to the airport.

My grandson has a serious egg & nut allergy. Staff were extremely helpful at breakfast checking that food was safe for him.

The shower temperature and pressure varied when we were using it. Guess because it was old. If the staff could acknowledge the reception is on 5th floor, that would be very helpful.

Our room was on the side of the hotel where there’s a lane, We were woken very early in the morning by a bin wagon and then bottle collection quickly followed by a gas bottle delivery. There was also a skip being filled with masonry from the playhouse.
Excellent location to attend the Playhouse. Reana on reception was excellent made a great suggestion for a food reservation which we would never have found by ourselves!

hotel bar was being refurbished so we had to use the breakfast area which didn't have the same atmosphere. check if you order a small wine 125ml that you don't receive and pay for a 175ml
Breakfeast was excellent and the room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The hotel offers 45% discount on parking which is 200yds away under the Omi centre

Building works going on! Would of been good for the hotel to of told us this before arriving as we may have reconsidered our stay. Away for a few days r&r and we were woken by building works each morning at 8am!
Weve stayed here before and was so good we decoded to return.. Great location

The property is undergoing major renovation and is basically a building site. Unable to work (take or make calls etc due to noise). The hotel really should make this clear to customers at the time of booking.

We were uinable to access wi-fi, even with the given password. The TV could not access the internet and we could not view any channels.

The breakfast is the same everyday no variety, also not much vege options. If person is staying for more then a day, it gets boring to eat the same breakfast for 2-3 days

Busy breakfast due to renovation of restaurant. Staff struggling to keep up with demand. Small details of room unclean and bathroom with glass wall is not nice for a romantic get away. Mattress protector was uncomfortable, and bed linen didn't quite fit the mattress, so kept coming off.
Quiet room, didn't even notice you were in the middle of a city centre. Staff at check in were friendly and knowledgeable.
