Hotel de Londres y de Inglaterra, hotel in San Sebastián

Overlooking La Concha Bay, this grand 19th-century building is set next to the beach, on San Sebastián’s seafront promenade.

Location was amazing. View and Room were gorgeous. We didn't have seaview but street view was nice as we could step out onto a balcony. Our parents had a seaview and it was just incredible.

Hotel Monte Ulia, hotel in San Sebastián

Hotel Monte Ulia is located just outside San Sebastián, 20 minutes’ walk from Zurriola Beach. It offers free Wi-Fi and free parking.

Its location is great, its a little out from the hustle of the city yet easy to get to via the 13 bus which stops almost outside the hotel, its about 1.80 euros into town and you get off in the main street and get back on at the same stop you got off at, as the bus turns around here and heads back to the hotel. There is also a nice local coffee shop just by the bus stop at the hotel and a short car drive you can get to the top of Mount Ulia where there are lots of walks through the forest with great views over the city and the sea. Oh yes there is also a great, quiet car park, which is free to guests.

FAQs about hotels in San Sebastián

Amazing Coastline and Historical Beauty

San Sebastian is a famous beach resort in the north of Spain with picturesque coastline, vibrant nightlife and amazing Basque gastronomy.

Playa de la Concha is one of the world’s most popular city beaches, ideal for watersports lovers. Rent a surfboard on Zurriola beach or just relax on a cosy lounge chair under your umbrella.

Established as the culinary capital of Spain, San Sebastian features a variety of bars and restaurants serving delicious pintxos (Basque-style tapas), fresh seafood and fine wine. According to Spanish tradition, you should have one tapa and a wine in one bar, then move on to the next bar.

The tree-covered hill standing just across the gulf is called Urgull and offers spectacular views over the bay and city. Situated at the bottom of it, Parte Vieja is the old part of the town where you can mix with the locals and visit some of the city’s most interesting historical attractions.

San Sebastian Airport is located 20 km east, so it's a short journey into the city itself. Booking.com offers a choice of accommodation ranging from luxury hotels to guest houses, apartments and budget hostels.

There are restraints nearby where you can eat delicious Pinchos, so it was quite easy to get to. It was incredibly quiet from night to morning. Yes, there was no noise at all. I never once felt like I was in an unsafe place. Next time I'll try taking the bus.

San Sebastian is really a great city for views: you have 2 mountains accessible on foot with great views on the bay (concha), the city and the ocean. There is also nice architecture (Art Nouveau), a great basque history/art museum (San Telmo) and a maritime museum with an aquarium. And there is a great beach for surfing (Zurriola). So on the boulevards you can see side by side a surfer with surfboard and a very smartly dressed couple walking toward the Kuursaal.

    Parks and beaches are beautiful.

Parks and beaches are beautiful. Food at some bars and restaurants is phenomenally good! I didn’t have time to visit museums, but I expect they are up to the quality of other aspects of public life. And people on the street and in the bars seemed to be enjoying themselves a lot. (Although everyone seems to love a holiday weekend.)

The city is pretty and clean.

The city is pretty and clean. The food is excellent and varied leaning heavily to sea food. It is easy enough to walk around, there is taxi service for some of the attractions not downtown e.g. the stadium. Let me say, however, it is not as inexpensive as other places in Spain. Food can be pricey, especially some of the sampling meals in the restaurants. My Spanish is pretty okay, but, believe me Basque is not at all similar, fortunately, most menus, etc. are written in Spanish, French and English as well. The people are friendly and will work with you.

Beautiful city with amazing beaches, charming architecture, tons of amazing spots for pintxos, and a laid-back vibe. Public buses worked fine and there were taxis readily available during the day, but it's small enough to walk almost anywhere.

Loved San Sebastian and will return. Apartment was really well placed for the beach - pity we didn't see there was beach chairs till we were packing to leave. Very spacious and airy and good for drying clothes in the little courtyard - could have done with having some info leaflets about SS. We took a boat to the island and the atmosphere there was amazing - I would definitely recommend!

Our stay was for a family birthday celebration with my husband and two adult daughters - the apartment was very comfortable with lots of space, so we had the opportunity to chill out in the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is well equipped for a self catering stay. New modern hotel in historic area close to the beach. Excellent location with countless excellent tapas bars and restaurants steps away from Hotel Atari. As this is San Sebastian, the food scene is the (Michelin) star of the show. Although adjacent to the busy Basílica de Santa Maria del Coro, the excellent sound insulation provided by the glass balcony doors kept the noise outside. The staff were warm and welcoming with a glass of wine offered on arrival. The breakfast choice was first rate.

The apartment was great. Wonderful layout, thoughtfully appointed and worked great for our family of four. Comfy beds! Lots of room. Only time during two weeks in Spain that we were all able to actually unpack our clothes! Nice kitchen set up - great for a family with food allergies that had to cook several meals. We quickly found out after booking tickets to San Sebastian that it was not a cheap city at all for hotels. Pension Ondarra offers excellent value and quality, plus I much prefer to be in this neighborhood where more locals live, but only a 10 minute walk or so to the old town.
