Lovely seaside town with spectacular mountain and coastal...
Lovely seaside town with spectacular mountain and coastal views, good promenades and beach, plenty of eating and drinking options. Very comfortable apartment with very friendly and informative hostess/manager. On our first night it was the festival of the town's patron saint - cue midnight bonfire and fireworks - we had a grandstand view across the river from our balcony. A couple of potential snags - the beach was closed for bathing because of river pollution (but there are some great beaches not far away); and the house between us and the mountain view looked like it was scheduled for redevelopment. Also, we did not have time, but historic caves nearby. Otherwise, it was perfect. I don't say that very often.

Lovely village with marina and nice walks along the promenade and harbourside. Not a huge choice of eating establishments but the one we chose "El Campanu" was terrific if a bit erratic in the order of delivery of dishes!

This was a stop for just one night along my walking trip.
This was a stop for just one night along my walking trip. I arrived at 14:00 I felt like I did tour the town by the evening. I took a long walk along the two parts of the town connected by the bridge, walked in the water, barefoot, along the beach which was so refreshing and relaxing for my tired feet. The views were stunning and the weather was so pleasant. Used the common lavendarias to wash my clothes, dined and had coffee with some delicious chocolate assortment at a nice chocolate store at the main town whole. It was Sunday and most of the shops were closed. Overall, it is very recommended for a short stop or get-way for peach lovers and surfers.

Ribadesella is a small gem.
Ribadesella is a small gem. Beautiful beach with a promenade you can walk all the way round. Nice little town with views of the mountains all around. Only a handful of hotels and limited places to eat and drink but that is to be expected for a small seaside town. Very peaceful. In the morning we woke to the sound of the waves on the shore.

The town boasts this lovely bay.
The town boasts this lovely bay. Our hotel was on the beach so we could take it all in at leisure. We walked from one end of the beach to the other taking in the lovely atmosphere. A short walk over the bridge to the town which looked quite busy and offered lots of restaurants, note that most of them don't open until 8.30 pm. Our hotel was well signposted and easy to find. We actually ate in one of the restaurants that we later found just behind our hotel rather than going back into town later. It was as good. We got a good view of the town from the viewpoint so had plenty to explore.

This place has amazing geography.
This place has amazing geography. River, ponds, beach and views of the mountains. A small marina & working boats, dropping catch at the fish market. If you like a stroll, then do the health walk, it takes you past ponds teaming with wildlife. A slightly more strenuous walk, then head for the Ermita. A proper all day walk head west, a circular walk over to the next place and back. Several businesses offering opportunities for water sports. We were there out of season and on a Monday, so couldn’t find a restaurant, (Monday closing, or closed for winter). Would like to return in spring.
This is a lovely apartment set back from the busy area of Ribadesella. It is decorated in a traditional Asturian fashion. It has a small kitchen and a comfortable living area. The bed is very comfortable and the heating system works well (which is important at this time of year). Alejandro the host was extremely helpful and welcoming even though it is self check in and we didn’t actually meet! We were able to cook for ourselves. It’s a very short walk to the wonderful Ribadesella promenade in the beach front which is very special.
Great location right by the seaside and not far from Lagos de Covadonga by car. Amazing sea view from our room, it was nice being able to fall asleep with the sound of the ocean waves. Room was pretty spacious and bathroom completely renovated. Staff was helpful. Breakfast offered a great variety of sweet and savoury options - french butter croissants served every morning were simply delicious! Free parking right in front the hotel was appreciated.
The husband and wife that operate the Hotel Arena were both polite and gracious . The hotel is conveniently located and the rooms were neatly clean. A brief walk across the bridge for local taverna’s and cafes. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. A nice place for a quiet night’s sleep when walking the Camino Del Norte.
Nearly Everything!
Really nice environment, pool was stunning although I did not have time to use it.
Really great location with interesting walks in the vicinity and down to the town.
Small but very private balcony overlooking the pool.
I benefited from vising for one night only Mid September so the Hotel was very quiet
This was our last night after a trip through Portugal and Spain on our way back to Santander.
Wonderful view from our room overlooking a very pretty bay. The hotel has an imposing facade with a huge outdoor pool to one side. Our experience from the booking in, to eating and drinking was faultless.
The hotel was excellent, in a beautiful country setting. The owner couldn't have been nicer. The breakfast was great, home made bread, cake and jam. Everything about the place was absolutely brilliant. We will go back as soon as possible.
The room was spacious and had a great view of the park behind the hotel. Restaurants and grocery store within a block and just 200m from the beach. Staff was delightful and able to answer a ton of questions. The breakfast was also superb.
The breakfast was made to order and was really delicious. The hotel is small and beautiful. Each room has a different theme, ours was Las Naranjas. Ribasedella is a beautiful small town and I wished we could stay longer.
Stunning location, lovely room overlooking the beach. Great breakfast and a sensational dinner in the adjoining Michelin starred restaurant. Helpful, friendly staff. An object lesson in how to run a hotel.... well done!
Fantastic hotel situated right on the promenade and beach

Lovely food in evening
Very good gin and tonic made by Nina

Good location with close access to the beach. Not far from the bus station. I had a large, airy, and comfortable room on the 4th floor with a large bathroom, not pictured above.
Had a lovely time and felt like home. Great location,
Clean, very spacious, accommodating and welcoming host. We’d definitely come back when we’re in Ribadesella. Thank you
