The 2nd largest Czech city, Brno is a centre of Moravian culture, surrounded by lush countryside. The twin spires of the hilltop Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul dominate the neighbouring Bishops Palace, while the nearby square houses the Moravia Museum and Reduta Theatre, both the oldest in the country.
Beneath the square is Brno Underground, a maze of medieval tunnels and cellars that once housed wine produced in the surrounding region. There is an annual wine festival here, but the largest event is the Ignis Brunensis fireworks competition by Brno Lake to the north-west, lined by trees that hide Veveří Castle.
A less grand castle - Špilberk - sits on a hill in the city centre. At its feet is Masaryk University, the 2nd largest in the Czech Republic. The city’s Mendel University is named after the genetics founder who was abbot of St Thomas’ Abbey, where a museum commemorates his work.
The nearby Brno Exhibition Centre is of functionalist design, but the most important example of this architectural style is UNESCO World Heritage-listed Villa Tugendhat. On the opposite side of the city is Masaryk Circuit, home of the Czech MotoGP.
The Brno accommodation on Booking.com includes cheap hostels near the train station, guest houses near Freedom Square and hotels by Brno-Tuřany Airport.

Great city to visit, we stayed way too short, but are already planning the next visit. Many things to see, many places to visit, great food options. We went to the park around the castle, checked out few recommended food spots and also Vida! which is an amazing thing to do if you travel with kids, highly recommended.

Brno is a city you can enjoy without a hurry even if you are there just for the weekend, the city has beautiful historic buildings, excellent museums(with good and free WCs), many theaters, the attractions can be reached on foot if you stay in the center. There are many cafes and many lavander products (even food).

The more you visit Brno, the better it gets.
The more you visit Brno, the better it gets. Compared to Prague, there could be no more distant twins - same state, same geographical topology, yet so much different history, mixture of cultures, peoples.

I have been to Brno a number of times and there is always something new to do. The standard of hospitality is very high - great restaurants and wine bars. To recommend one, I would choose Borgo Agnese. The city is also culturally rich - music, history, art. A fabulous city.

Brno was a busy town but not really tourist oriented.. it had some amazing history and beautiful buildings to look at so best to do your homework first so you get an understanding so as to self guide as it’s quite expensive otherwise.. we stayed in an apartment 2minute walk from central station which was the perfect location and well priced . You can walk everywhere unless you wish to drive /bus out to some of the other buildings of interest 20-30 klms out .. lots of underground tunnels to explore in which you can go on line and get a group pass discounted .. would only recommend a day visit here ..

Brno is a hidden gem.
Brno is a hidden gem. It has amazing architecture, plenty of things to do. A really vibrant coffee and food scene and incredibly cheap beer, poured beautifully. The locals are friendly and it feels like a safe city, only the area around the station is a little rough. This is a great place to come for a short break - great value and no tourist crowds. The theatres offer opera, ballet and other shows at bargain prices. Visit in spring-summer for warmth, sun and flowers or in December for some of the best Christmas markets in Europe. Again, without the crowds.
A very nice hotel in the outskirts of Brno with a pool, sauna, and a top-floor lounge with lovely view towards city. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Stuff was very polite and helpful. We got a bottle of wine as a welcome present. Excellent breakfast, excellent restaurant in the lobby. It is not far away from the city centre (25min walking) and it is easily reachable by tram/bus (15min). We really enjoyed the stay and would recommend this hotel.
We felt at home, with Bea always present very kind for any need we had. The apartment was very comfortable, cozy, quiet with a wonderful balcony with a very nice and relaxing view of a woody hill and neighborhood gardens. Bea is better than a five stars hotel concierge, providing the best and most useful information on any matter we needed for. The center is easy to reach by tram which stops 200 meters from the house. We will come again for sure.
The way that staff handled my check-in, check-out and breakfast were as quick and hassle-free as it gets. The bed was really comfortable and the breakfast choices were very good. Room was very clean and there was a small balcony to enjoy. Complementary bottle of sparkling water was a very nice touch. The hotel is located in a quiet street just a few minutes of walk from the train station and the city centre.
It was some mess with booking - the system assigned us to smaller room then it was described at site. The stuff was very helpful and have solved the issue by providing us with bigger room without any cost.
It was spacious room with big TV and fan.
Good view to the mountains and good breakfast.
Parking is available along the street or in hotel facility.
I am regular guest to this hotel.Very helpful and nice ladies at the desk. I have asked for later checkout and no problem. Very clean room with balcony and !
bath! Even though the furniture is not newest it is well kept, same with the building of the hotel. Well located, 15 min walk from city centre. Definately good value/price ratio.
Historic hotel in an interesting Art Deco era building. Walkable/trammable from the main station, and very close to a main transport hub (Česká) in Brno. You can walk to everything, plenty of restaurants nearby, breakfast (good and varied) is served in the ground floor restaurant of the hotel.
AC in the room (although in 30 C heat it took some time to cool the room), friendly staff, great evening with a glass of wine where you can hear live piano, great location (quite close to the park and to the bus stop), free parking(outside the hotel) and very good price to quality ratio
We booked two rooms, we got those next to each other, we appreciated that.
Our rooms were clean and looked like in the advertisement.
The buffet breakfast was simple, but good.
There is a tram line in from of the hotel, providing direct connection to the city centre.
A nice hotel on the edge of Brno city centre, comfortable rooms, with friendly staff and good breakfast. We have stayed here twice, two years in a row. For us it's a perfect one night stop while driving through Czech Republic towards Austria.
Location is great 5-10 minutes walk from the main TRAIN station as well as the GRAND hotel bus station... next to each other. Our room was looking out onto Zelny Trh (vegetables & fruits)
Old colonial charm was why we chose this hotel.
Nice hotel close to tram stops and 15-20 minutes walk to the city center. Very kind staff and cleaning ladies, electric kettle in the room. Comfy beds, warm room. At the breakfast we found everything we needed.
We stayed in Brno for treatment at Reprofit. This hotel is literally next door to Reprofit which made it wonderful for us. Great breakfasts and nice rooms. I think it’s a great value, would go again!
Very nice and big apartment, with nice view on river. It is close to castle Brno. Restaurant with professional personel and good food. Beer 🍺 like always in Czech Republic the 👌 best.
Comfortable beds and clean rooms. At the breakfast, there is variety to choose from. There is a bus stop close to the hotel and it is easy and fast to get to the city centre.
Newly refurbished hotel not far away from the city centre by walking. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean, the bed was comfy. Good breakfast.
